Cakes, cheesecake treats, and bread pudding are stored in the refrigerator for freshness. For best taste and texture allow coming to room temperature before serving. Cake and Bread Pudding covered with plastic/saran wrap and foil, then placed in a freezer bag with store well in freezer for months.

Pound Cakes
It is recommended to store pound cakes at room temperature. You can make a pound cake stay good for longer if you keep it in the fridge, but this is going to make the cake worse. The texture and the flavor of the cake will be altered by being placed in the refrigerator. The pound cake will last in the refrigerator for around seven (7) days. On average, the pound cake will last between four (4) and five (5) days when stored properly at room temperature.

Pound cakes may be stored in the freezer by wrapping securely in plastic and placed into a freezer bag. You’ll want to write the date on the cake so that you’ll know when you placed it in the freezer. The cake should stay good for approximately four (4) to six (6) months. After this time, the cake will start to degrade in quality.

Chocolate Covered Fruit and Treats
Chocolate-covered strawberries and apples are good for about two (2) days when they are stored properly in an air-tight container or plastic zipper bag in the fridge at or below 40 degrees Fahrenheit but it is recommended to eat them within the first few days to enjoy their optimum quality and taste. Moreover, always store your chocolate-covered treats away from strong-smelling foods.

You can freeze chocolate-covered strawberries and they can last for about three (3) months in the freezer. The downside, it will negatively impact the texture and flavor of chocolate-covered strawberries. The frozen chocolate-covered strawberries when thawed will become mushy and too soft.

Banana Pudding
Banana pudding is best enjoyed within the first 24-48 hours that it is made. Avoid leaving it at room temperature for no more than two (2) hours. If you plan on enjoying it later, refrigerate the banana pudding in a sealed airtight container. When properly stored, you can refrigerate it for up to three (3) to four (4) days. Due to the delicate ingredients used in my banana pudding recipe, I do not recommend freezing banana pudding.
